Job Title: Unit Secretary (Part-Time)
Performs clerical and receptionist duties essential to the operation of patient care as directed and also receives instructions from physicians and nurses.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Performs clerical and receptionist duties essential to the operation of patient care as directed and also receives instructions from physicians and nurses * Performs a variety of duties relating to admission, discharge and/or transfer of patients * Maintains up-to-date patient rosters (e.g., locator board, TPR, BP, weight book * Greets new admissions, introducing self and orienting patients to call system and physical facilities * Maintains an up-to-date record of all patients who are discharged, deceased or transferred * Requests from Medical Records, the old chart of re-admitted patients * Maintains a system for tracking the location of each patient on the unit * Transcribes physicians' orders and follows through appropriately in their implementation
* High School Diploma * Evidence of satisfactory job performance from previous employer and satisfactory references
