Role Summary

The Vice President Venue Security will oversee and manage the day to day operation of the venue security program. Reporting to the SVP Threat Management, this position will lead a team of Security professionals located within each venue. The position is a critical partner with all internal corporate functions to protect MSG's people, assets and brand reputation. In addition to regular venue operational responsibilities, the Vice President Venue Security will assist and support the Executive Protection program as needed. As a Vice President, you will be creating a safe working environment for all relevant stakeholders and providing strategic & operational guidance.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

* Responsible for the safety and security of MSG venues, surrounding areas, event security team and corporate offices.
* Provide leadership to Security Director's or Managers at each venue (dotted reporting line to building head).
* Assist with the pre-opening phases and buildout of Sphere security program in Las Vegas & London.
* Responsible for all administrative documentation, report writing and metrics which support MSG venues.
* Collaborate with property management, local authorities and city employees.
* Adopt industry best practices for emergency preparedness and continuity of operations in all venue operations.
* Collaborate with SVP Threat Management by incorporating policies, and training protocols that continuously develop employees, as well as address their perishable skills.
* Develop, implement and manage security training in collaboration with the SVP Threat Management.
* Manage the development, implementation and continuous refinement of physical/facilities security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security protocols.
* Perform security and risk assessments of facilities, including security equipment condition and provide summary of needed improvements to senior management.
* Conduct, supervise and prepare reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of regulations, policies and procedures.
* Supplement and support the Executive Protection program as needed. Required protection may include both Domestic & International assignments to support our Senior Leadership Team.
* Perform other broad security duties as needed/directed to accomplish the overall security mission at MSG.

Qualifications

* Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior level security management role across a spectrum of security positions with an emphasis on sports or live events.
* Four-year degree in Criminal Justice or related field. MBA preferred.
* Ability to compile and execute company and departmental standard operating procedures and procedures (SOP's).
* Demonstrated experience working alongside C-Suite Executives
* Prior Executive Protection experience desirable.
* Ability to effectively articulate security and budgetary initiatives
* Knowledge of CCTV, surveillance equipment, alarms and radio communications
* Extensive experience working alongside city and state agencies
* Proven ability to assess, develop and successfully execute strategic internal and external security plans and quickly adapt to change as required by events.
* Previous experience managing in a union environment necessary with an emphasis on negotiating collective bargaining agreements
* Knowledge of safety and fire codes
* Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a budget and working with vendor relations
* Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational and time management skills required
* Must have the ability to work independently when necessary, and use sound business judgment
* Ability to present an uplifting personality while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and business ethics
* Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values, and principles while ensuring the upmost consistency
* Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group
* Problem solving, reasoning, motivational and organizational abilities are used often

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred. Educational requirements may differ from job to job based on the role.
